dESIGNING A POSTER THAT BUILDS AWARENESS OF DIVERSITY ISSUES WITHIN THE DESIGN INDUSTRY
Poster Summary
This poster is meant to convey the feelings of young designers
Imposter syndrome is a big problem with young designers and designers from diverse backgrounds.
Mainly because they lack the support/ mentorship or the confidence to approach this support. Young designers from diverse background go through feelings of isolation and solitude as they don’t have people to
The centre piece is made to represent a broad solution to this issue, by bringing young designers together to form a more diverse community where these individuals can grow and gain confidence in the field.
Design and creativity is about expressing ones identity.

Product Design
An innovative soft drinks bottle inspired by the Coca-Cola design language and the excitement of the World Cup, created using technical skills like Photoshop, Illustrator, Keyshot, Solidworks, and Cura for 3D CAD and printing.
My final university project was a self-directed project aimed at highlighting diversity issues in the design industry for young and newly established designers. It involved in-depth qualitative research using various methodologies, including Equity Centred Community Design and Minority Perspective. The project also utilized software such as Solid works, Key shot, Illustrator, Photoshop, and laser cutting techniques to create the final product.
A fun and experimental project that tested my designer skills in creating a sophisticated and elegant design language. The design takes inspiration from contemporary and modern structures, with a clean and reflective look to attract sophisticated users. Technical applications include designing mood boards, using 3D software to communicate aspects of the product, and creating exploded views and technical drawings.
An introduction to my expansive range of design skills that have stemmed from my degree in product design. Using strong graphical and communicational techniques to product attractive outcomes

Fine Art
This collection of work, is made to convey my broad range of creative skills. It is where my design skills have originally stemmed from, and where most of my ideas and direction have been birthed.
The social Economic Division in my local Area
Fine Art
The brief aims to convey my perspective of my own community's socioeconomic status, using abstract art techniques to amplify emotions felt by outsiders. The art mimics Josef Kote's color play, with deeper tones added for heightened intensity, guiding viewers to perceive Birmingham's less affluent areas beyond the city center with exaggeration.
Medium and techniques used:
Water colours
Acrylic Paint
Card painting
Palette knife
I combined my drawing skills with CAD software to create a collection. My methods included scanning pen and pencil drawings onto GIMP CAD software, adjusting dimensions, and laser cutting the designs on plywood, acrylic, and two-tone acrylic. Further inverting colours in GIMP before etching the two-tone acrylic to effectively portray the social and economic division of my local area, showcasing the contrast between 'nicer' and 'deprived' parts of Birmingham.
Medium and techniques used:
Analog Sketching
Cross Hatch
Fine lining
GIMP software
Inkscape software

Laser cutting

Gestural Marks
Fine Art
The project involves creating abstract pieces by effectively interpreting gestural marks, inspired by American abstract expressionist painter Franz Kline's use of contrast and medium to convey emotions. The focus is on physical and architectural compositions, with foundational lines serving as the basis for semi-abstract pieces that emphasize direction and visual dynamism.
Medium and techniques used:
Water colours
Acrylic Paint
Card painting
Palette knife
The final piece for the gestural marks project showcases a variety of expressive techniques, including cardboard paint dragging, colour inversion, and 'paint dapping' and crosshatching inspired by Franz Kline. The use of black and white tones emphasizes the lines, angles, and shapes created, resulting in a dynamic composition.
Medium and techniques used:
Card Painting
String Threading
Line Drawing
Layering
Photocopying and editing
I drew inspiration from Hundertwasser's photography and Debbie Smyth's thread drawing technique, integrating them into my own style unique. Using gestural marks and two-tone contrast, I emphasized geometric shapes without shading. Tackling challenges like thread loosening and shading complexities to create two pieces that unite line work and tone through the intricate medium of thread.
Medium and techniques used:
String Threading
Line Drawing
